The holiday season is always a busy one for 1st Nor Cal, and this year was no exception. Our philanthropy efforts began once again with our participation in the 96.5 KOIT Cares for Kids Radiothon, where we matched $0.10 to every dollar that our members spent on their 1st Nor Cal credit cards during the entire month of November, which brought our direct contribution to an incredible $3,062.90. Through donation matching of our members' credit card purchases, as well as KOIT's tireless donation efforts before and during the Radiothon, KOIT was able to raise $270,000 for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals of Oakland and San Francisco this holiday season.
Along with participating in the annual KOIT Cares for Kids Radiothon, we organized several donation efforts at our branches. We placed Toys for Tots donation boxes at each of our branches, and after nearly a month of collecting, we were overjoyed to bring 5 full boxes of toys to the Marine Corp Reserve Toys For Tots donation center. We also started a second donation effort this year with Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa County, where we collected non-perishable food donations at our two Martinez branches and our Pittsburg branch. We were able to donate two barrels full of non-perishable food items, thanks to the donations from you, our generous members. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we want to thank anyone who participated by using their credit card in November, making a direct contribution, or bringing in donations for our two donation campaigns.
Lastly, we were so excited to bring 5 bags of toys to the San Pablo Police Department at their annual toy drive. This is our 2nd year participating in the San Pablo Police Department's toy drive, and we have been supporters of theirs through other efforts throughout the year, such as the Turkey Run, Fun Run for the Special Olympics, and helping wrap presents at the senior center. Our business development team is always looking for opportunities to support the community around us, and we have had so many wonderful chances to do so this holiday season. We’re dedicated to our credit union promise of “People Helping People” and are grateful for the opportunity to support so many great organizations. Thank you for your contributions this holiday season. We would not have made nearly as big of an impact without the support of our own community, our members, here at 1st Nor Cal.
We wish you a safe and happy rest of the holiday season and a wonderful new year!"
